The first details about the «charged» version of the Volkswagen Golf, the presentation of which should take place at the Frankfurt Motor Show, appeared on the Internet.
The novelty will be equipped with 2.0 liters. turbo engine, with a capacity of 300 hp and 380 Nm of torque. Such a power unit will work with a 6-speed DSG transmission and a fifth-generation Haldex clutch. As a result, the Volkswagen Golf R will be able to accelerate to 100 km / h in 4.9 seconds. A version with a manual 6-speed gearbox will also be available for sale, but this version will be a little slower — 5.3 seconds to “hundreds”. The top speed in these two models will be 250 km / h.
The exterior of the new Volkswagen Golf will be quite typical for this model — the ground clearance will be reduced by 20 mm compared to the regular version, there will be different bumpers and side skirts, as well as 18 ”alloy wheels. The interior will have sports seats, a different steering wheel, pedal pads and various carbon fiber inserts..
In Europe, Volkswagen Golf will cost from 38,325 euros, and the start of sales should start after the official premiere.
