Preparations for the heating season in the Moscow region for 2012–2013 were carried out according to a previously prepared schedule. More than fourteen billion rubles were allocated for heat supply. According to German Elyanyushkin, who is the head of the Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities and the Construction Complex in the region, the Moscow region is currently the leader among other regions of Russia in terms of the level of preparedness for the heating season. Of the capital investments, which amounted to 14 billion rubles, 4.5 billion were provided by the regional budget, the rest of the funds were provided by municipalities and enterprises that work in the housing sector. About two billion rubles were allocated for the overhaul of apartment buildings, work on which will begin in the near future.
