Designed by Anish Kapoor and Cecil Belmond to commemorate the 2012 Olympics and give people a reason to visit East London, the ArcelorMittal Orbit has been rebuilt into a giant slide.
Now a long 180-meter tunnel is built into the tower, through which you can ride like a children’s slide slide. The tunnel circles the tower five times and then stretches 50 meters straight down, after which it slows down the passenger before taking him to the ground..
You will have to pay for a ride on the slide, but it will not open to the public until next spring..
People say they love the idea of rebuilding the ArcelorMittal Orbit tower into an entertainment attraction. The organizers of this transformation are confident that their new slide will draw attention to the Olympic Park and open up new perspectives for it..
